ABOUT THE PARK

The Meehan Range Bike Park project proposes to develop a range of new gravity-based trails in Hobart’s Meehan Range, along with an uplift bus service, café and retail/hire/bike school outlet. The project is being developed by the Tasmanian team behind Dirt Art and the Maydena Bike Park, through the Tasmanian Government EOI Process.

All existing and new proposed trails will be available for unrestricted public use, with the proposal only seeking to privatise access to a new shuttle road.

THE PROJECT AIMS TO PROVIDE:
  • A wide range of new, world-class trails free for public access
  • Opportunities for uplift-assisted riding within the Greater Hobart area
  • Opportunities for public involvement in new trail development
  • Access to a range of amenities, facilities and food and a beverage outlet
  • Improved access and parking facilities for all reserve users

A number of community information and consultation events will be scheduled – see the ‘Get Involved’ section of this website for details.

The project has an estimated launch date of late 2020.
